Tenenbaum turned slowly to face Jack, and he waved at her through the reinforced glass. For once, none of the girls were in there with her… Odd, if not for the fact that it was New Year’s and the girls had their own party with bears and a tower of blocks.

A peal of laughter mixed with wood clattering to stone, and Jack couldn’t help smiling over his shoulder at them.

…they had a tower.

The lab door opened hard into the wall and Tenenbaum staggered out, losing her balance.

“Hey, hey,” Jack warned her, but Tenenbaum only laughed… Falling onto him, almost limp in his arms. “Um, M…” He trailed off, clearing his throat. The smell on her was a far cry from the light, bubbly smell of champagne at the Kashmir before– just before. “Dr. Tenenbaum, are you alright?”

“I, well,” he stalled. “Elizabeth asked for you. She needs help with Booker.” Glancing to Booker and back to Tenenbaum, Jack decided it was best to clarify. Booker got a lot of comments on his looks in public, so… “She wants help with his injuries.”

What do you want to do, Elizabeth/Tenenbaum?
